The Economist is looking to hire a science and technology correspondent, based in London, for a one-year contract. They will cover everything from astronomy to archaeology, particle physics to synthetic biology. Experience in journalism is not essential, but the ability to write clearly and entertainingly is. The correspondent will be expected to appear on podcasts and films and at Economist events.
Applicants, who must have the right to work in the UK, should send a CV and an unpublished sample article, suitable for publication in The Economist’s science section, to: sciencejob@economist.com. It should be unpublished and no longer than 600 words. The deadline is midnight (UK time) on September 28th 2025.
